Every plan ends in steps: accounts to open, money to move, forms to send. Some of them wait for weeks because nobody picked them up. Helmsted reads each household’s plan, documents and accounts, and when something the plan calls for hasn’t happened yet, it raises it under Suggested next, with the reason and the steps.
In the sample household above, the plan settled on two HSAs for 2026 and neither account existed. The suggestion says why it matters now: medical bills from before an HSA opens can never be reimbursed from it.
How it works
- Find suggestions on Home and on each household’s overview.
- Press Start, and Helmsted opens a session, gathers the context it needs, and drafts the plan and the emails to send.
- No need to tidy up. When Helmsted sees the work already done, say the accounts open on the next statement, the suggestion clears on its own.
Where it is headed
Every suggestion you start, finish or clear teaches Helmsted more about how your firm works, so the suggestions get sharper over time. Over the coming weeks this part of Helmsted will change quickly, as it takes on more of the work, with your approval at every step that matters. See the full walkthrough in At the Helm No. 13.
